Beijing China-Japan Innovation & Cooperation Demonstration Zone attends the 17th Beijing-Tokyo Forum as a member of the Chinese Executive Committee

On October 25, the 17th Beijing-Tokyo Forum opened at the Beijing International Hotel. At the plenary session that morning, Lou Jiwei, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee and former Chinese Finance Minister, conducted a thematic dialogue with Japanese guests on topics such as Sino-Japanese relations and cooperation in a world with profound changes.


As the world’s second largest economy and a major carbon emitter, China is actively assuming its international responsibilities. In September 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping solemnly pledged at the 75th UN General Assembly that China would strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060 (“carbon peaking and neutrality” goals).
