Chinese PLA Medical Contingent Sends Immediate Aid to Flood-hit Area in Southern Laos | China-Laos

With the approval of the Central Military Commission, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) medical contingent immediately dispatched a 32-member medical unit to the Attapeu province after a hydropower dam collapsed Monday this week.

The accident has caused many people dead and hundreds missing. The Chinese medical team is carrying out the “Peace Train-2018” Humanitarian Medical Rescue Joint Training Mission in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

The medical rescue mission will be carried out together with Lao medical teams. It is reported that this will be the first international rescue team to arrive in the disaster area.
