Shenzhen glitters gracefully when the skies are blue. Shiny new buildings, monumental skyscrapers, modernly designed buildings, tidy roads and large parks compose the beauty of Shenzhen.
The world’s youngest and most rapidly developing metropolis, the city is hosting the Shenzhen Belt and Road International Music Festival for second year in a row.
Although the music festival has just turned two, it has clearly reached world-class ranks. The six-week festival features participation by 700 outstanding musicians from 40 countries. Actually, the 40 countries are fewer than anticipated because some were not available to participate this year. But authorities in Shenzhen are working to invite more countries from around the world to participate in the music festival in the coming years.
Shenzhen now has a population of more than 12 million and continues to develop rapidly in every sector. It blows the mind that Shenzhen was a small fishing town of 30,000 only 30 years ago. Now, the city is home to 60,000 designers and the headquarters of many well-known multinational companies such as Huawei, Tencent, ZTE, JXD, Hasee and BYD. Shenzhen has even fostered numerous nationally famous Chinese musicians.
It’s hard to pin down a top landmark of Shenzhen because the entire city is such a landmark development.
The success of Shenzhen’s music festival evidences that its residents tightly embrace the arts even though high technologies and modern commerce are its calling cards.
Spectators’ eyes were consistently glued to the stage during the opening ceremony of music festival composed of a joint performance featuring famous Chinese and international musicians such as Chinese-American violinist Cho-Liang Lin, Argentinian Bandoneon Walter Rios, French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary, New York Metropolitan Opera House baritone Yunpeng Wang and Chinese vocalist Lei Jia. The audience’s enthusiasm for performances by locals and visitors alike testified to the character of city residents.
During the opening ceremony, Chinese Uyghur ethnic folk songs mesmerized the audience. Applause thundered throughout the hall when the Uyghur performance concluded.
A local Shenzhen youth band, Proud of Shenzhen, proved that Shenzhen is a hotbed of strong musicians on the third day of the music festival.
According to Linzi Pan, a member of Proud of Shenzhen, almost every family in Shenzhen owns a piano, and parents encourage their children to learn musical instruments and enroll them in classes at a very young age. Pan has performed in music concerts globally and won international awards. She started learning to play the piano at age 5 and attended Curtis Institute of Music in the U.S. for nearly five years. She suspects that so many great musicians come from Shenzhen because parents there always encourage their children to practice music regularly.
Members of the Proud of Shenzhen group include talented young musicians such as New York Metropolitan Opera House singer Yunpeng Wang, pianist Feifei Dong who reached the finals in “Van Cliburn,” Linzi Pan, the only Chinese prize winner of the Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition, cellist Shangwen Liao and violinist Zhang Wei.
Yupeng Wang’s heavenly baritone voice and Feifei Dong’s breathtaking piano playing inspired tumultuous applause from the packed house.
Han Wang Xi, an official with the Shenzhen Municipal Government, declared that music has no borders and is key to spreading love. His daughter attended Oxford University to study music.
According to him, every district of Shenzhen has a music venue and more music academies and opera houses are coming soon.
The closing ceremony of Shenzhen’s Belt and Road International Music Festival will be held on April 29. Shenzhen, a key city on the “Belt and Road” route, will host more music festivals and cultural events in the future and feature participation from even more countries around the world.

အကယ္၍ ရွန္က်န္းၿမိဳ႕၏ ထင္ရွားေသာ landmark ကို ျပပါဆိုလွ်င္ တစ္ေနရာတည္းကို ကြက္ျပ၍ ရႏိုင္မည္မဟုတ္ေပ၊ ရွန္က်န္းၿမိဳ႕ကိုယ္တိုင္ကပင္ ထူးျခားသည့္ landmark ျဖစ္ေန၍ျဖစ္သည္။
ရွန္က်န္းၿမိဳ႕၏ ဂီတပြဲက ၿမိဳ႕ခံမ်ားအေနျဖင့္ ႐ုပ္၀တၳဳပစၥည္းမ်ား တိုးတက္လာေသာ္လည္း ဂီတအႏုပညာ ဘက္တြင္လည္း အားမနည္းေၾကာင္း သက္ေသျပလ်ုက္ရွိသည္။

ဖြင့္ပြဲအခမ္းအနားတြင္ တ႐ုတ္၀ီဂါလူမ်ဳိးမ်ား၏ ႐ိုးရာေတးမ်ားက ပရိသတ္မ်ားကို ဖမ္းစားႏိုင္ခဲ့ၿပီး ၀ီဂါမ်ား ေဖ်ာ္ေျဖမႈ ၿပီးဆုံးသြားသည့္အခါတြင္ လက္ခုပ္သံမ်ား ခန္းလံုးျပည့္ ေသာေသာညံသြားခဲ့သည္။
ဂီတပြဲေတာ္၏ တတိယေျမာက္ေန႔တြင္လည္း ရွန္က်န္းၿမိဳ႕ခံ လူငယ္ေတးဂီတအဖြဲ႕ျဖစ္သည့္ Proud of Shenzhen က ရွန္က်န္းၿမိဳ႕အေနျဖင့္ ဂီတပညာရွင္မ်ား၏ ဘူမိနက္သန္အမွန္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္းကို သက္ေသျပႏိုင္ခဲ့သည္။
