Baffled by the way Chinese people call you? Actually, the 3 words below are names that can refer to anyone.

“Qin” is today’s hot word, while the others are old-fashioned terms shared by seniors. “Qin” first prevailed among retailers on taobao.com. Now, it can refer to your friends or someone friendly you encounter.

“Tong zhi” means “comrade”, and it particularly prevailed during the latter half of the 20th century. For most Chinese people,”Shi fu” often refers to master workers like drivers and chefs, but elders may habitually call everyone they meet “shi fu”. Many girls are shocked when they are called “shi fu” by a senior citizen in Beijing for the first time.
