In Chinese, “to eat tofu” and “to drink vinegar” have special meanings in certain context. “To eat tofu” means to flirt with or to take advantage of a girl, while “to drink vinegar” means to be jealous. In the above case, Jingwen’s parents referred to the implied meaning. Don’t get it wrong!
